The Nehemiah Story -
Every human work that has been undertaken for good (for God) since Adam fell has been met with opposition. When your mission is of significance for the good of humanity, negative forces (Satan) will not allow you to work unhindered. While opposition is sure to arise, effective, persistent and positive teamwork will always prevail when everyone stays focused on the bigger picture (God's desire).
Sanballat, Tobiah and Geshem were a constant nuisance to Nehemiah and his team while they were rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem. These men didn't care for the welfare of Jerusalem.
In this story we can see that it doesn't take long to build the walls of a city when everyone works as a team - ignoring the naysayers, believing in the benefits of the expected outcome and staying focused on the task at hand.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (NIV)
Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls

ACTIVITIES FOR TEAM BUILDING
1) One Word to Create the Sentence of Purpose
The leader (Deborah) will say a word. As we move down the line of team players, each person says one word to make the finished sentence relevant to their team purpose.
2) Two Truths - One Lie
Divide up into pairs of two. Take turns telling your coworker two things about you that are true and one thing that’s false. Have them guess the lie. Rotate.
3) Song Writing and Performing to a Popular Tune that Everyone Knows (Like: Rock A Bye Baby / Jingle Bells / You're the One that I Want -from Grease- / Other?)
Divide up into groups. Give each group 15-20 minutes to come up with new words (and some moves) to a popular tune that everyone in the group knows. Then, each group performs their new arrangement with singing and dancing for the other groups to enjoy laughing and smiling.
These messages can be customized to fit the mission, theme or intended desire of each individual group.
